Conferences and Research

Resident scholars and visiting fellows will carry out research projects on historical and contemporary aspects of Chinese music in context, including literature, philosophy, art history, sociology, and social history.  Annual conferences will bring together scholars from around the world.  A publication series is planned.

On March 30-31, 2018, Bard Music Conservatory held an international symposium on the topic, Harmony and Power: The Role of Music in the Cultivation of the Literati in Ancient China
